If I purchase the one time $50 freephoneline unlock key to enable me to use my number on a VOIP phone box machine that I have, will I still pay for the $4.95 per month fee that freephoneline charges for a homephone?

Fongo Home Phone and Freephoneline.ca offer 2 different services and you cannot switch between them. If you are using Fongo Home Phone they do not offer an unlock key anymore. FPL does offer the unlock key, and yes if you buy the unlock key for $50 then you are free to use an ATA without a monthly fee.

Which service(s) do you use at the moment? It will be easier to tell you the options you have if we know that.
