credit card transactions
Hi all, do you know if it is possible to run credit card transaction through freephoneline (I am asking since there are some problems with sending faxes through freephoneline)? Thanks.

Re: credit card transactions
Hmm, good question. I mean theoretically with the ATA you CAN* run any type of electronic communication.
The problem most people experience with faxes is that the fax transmits faster than the ATA can translate the signal... I could see this happening with Electronic Debit and Credit transactions as well, but it's not a question I have ever seen come up as many of these types of systems now run over your Broadband connection rather than a dial-up modem.
Although I do see enough clinging to their old tech, and it always drives me nuts when it takes 4 minutes to complete a bloody Interac purchase

Re: credit card transactions
I'm presuming you're running credit card transactions for residential, non-business purposes?

Re: credit card transactions
I have a friend who is thinking to use FPL for his business and he would like to be able to run cc transactions through FFL - that is why I am asking this question. Is this service for residential purposes only?

Yes it is, I may want to remind you though our umbrella company, Fibernetics, is the business ISP/ITSP devision of the company.

Re: Porting From FPL to Fibernetics??
One question, having said... if we are using it for business purposes, can one PORT over from FPL to FIBERNETICS then?

If you mean a number you've gotten generated via the signup page... Yes. They both exist in the same DID inventory, and I'd assume could be ported over in seconds (maybe) since we own both companies, and placing an LNP request in NPAC to ourselves would be pointless...

Re: credit card transactions
I spent about 10 minutes trying to get some info about business phone lines from the fibernetics web site and that is about 9 minutes 50 seconds more than what i am usually willing to spend when looking for info
amazing... lots of text but very little useful info on that web site.
So far here is what I understand: one need to subscribe to business DSL and then purchase digital PBX system and then the happiness - free business telephone - begins. Also, to get an idea of how much that would cost, one need to call the provided 1-800 number as there is no information about the costs posted on the web site... it looks to me that voip.ms would be a much cheaper alternative.
Thank you.

Re: credit card transactions
You will need to call for this. As with most business solutions, prices will be all over the board based on your needs. We can't provide a "this is your price" type of page, because that price will be dramatically different for all business types and system requirements.nivanov wrote:I spent about 10 minutes trying to get some info about business phone lines from the fibernetics web site and that is about 9 minutes 50 seconds more than what i am usually willing to spend when looking for infoamazing... lots of text but very little useful info on that web site.

Give the 800 number a call, they'll get you in touch with a sales rep pretty fast and you can discuss your needs and get a quote based on what you need/want from the system. There's no pressure or obligation to buy. You'll be amazed at what this little system can do compared to VOIP.ms! Enterprise class phone features for free! You'll pay top dollar for these features with any other business VOIP provider.
