Why was I quoted that I will receive a Linksys PAP2T ATA,

Post by marginal »

and I received a Grandstream HT286  ?

Not that I don't like it, but it has only one phone line and now, I am to use 2 ATAs in order to be able to use my other telephone line or a fax ...
Is there a way to change this adapter for one which has 2 phone lines?

Thanks.

To the best of my knowledge, we are sending out the Grandstream HT - 286's instead of the Linksys PAP2T's unless otherwise requested.

The agent may have been misinformed.

The following is a copy from the FAQ on your web page:
ATA Device Questions
How much does it cost to buy your ATA to activate my home phone?
If I buy your ATA, is it locked to your service?
Can I use my own ATA or buy the configuration settings on their own?
Do you have a return policy?
When I call somebody, only one party can hear (one way audio)
How do I find the IP address of my Linksys PAP2T ATA to forward the ports to?

Meaning you are supposed to send me a PAP2T ...

If you are looking at "How do I find the IP address of my Linksys PAP2T ATA to forward the ports to?" that simply states how to find the IP address of the device, no where it says we will send you a Linksys PAP2T-NA.

We simply need to add another line that states the same thing about the Grandstream, but since it's a fairly recent add to our inventory it's not been done.

It is not only by that that I assumed that you are to send me the Linksys.
Here's another quote from the FAQs:
If I buy your ATA, is it locked to your service?
The Linksys PAP2T ATA we sell is a two-line SIP ATA. It is fully unlocked so you can configure the other line as you wish! You are buying the ATA from us, we have no reason to lock it!

Again - nowhere does it state that is the only ATA we sell. I am locking this topic as the question has been answered.
