Is there point for STUN to be on? Does FPL have one set up? what does it do? i had one setup on both of my ATA and on the SPA i could hear anything.. so is there point? it works fine without it...

From experience, I have come to the conclusion that at best, STUN is useless, and can get in the way of a stable connection. A proxy server does a much better job.

We actually set up a test STUN server for FPL to try and see if it would reduce or remedy the dropped calls issue, and as you said, pretty useless. Though again it's all based on the service, some providers insist on using STUN.

the STUN we used for testing is internal, it's being shut down so it was never assigned an address other than an IP
