Using just software calling out, it is calling, almost never works. Basically i know it is dialing to other party, but when they pick up phone, they will not hear anything (none of my voice go thru)
Only if I hear the software calling out has the dialing tones, then it means it works. But this allmost never come now!

Sounds like a port issueflyingking wrote:Using just software calling out, it is calling, almost never works. Basically i know it is dialing to other party, but when they pick up phone, they will not hear anything (none of my voice go thru)

Have you tried with your firewall/internet security software turned completely off?
If so, and if the problem still persists, then you'll need to set your router to port forward UDP ports 13000-13001 and 6060-6061 to the PC using the softphone.
Seems like either your router, or your firewall, is filtering the SIP packets.

i have my SPA 2102 directly to the modem and then my router is connected after the SPA2102 ...

Check Steve's post just above yours. You need to open the ports mentionned. Be careful and make sure it's UDP that you check and not TCP.

but why would i need to open the ports on the ATA device if it's connected directly to the modem. I would understand if i was behind a router and i would have to port forward.
And i realized the people that i have mainly having problems calling into are people that are using the Rogers Home Phone.

I'm not sure if I understand correctly. Your ATA is NOT behind a router but plugged directly into your modem? Maybe your modem has a firewall (mine does it's a 2wire gateway -meaning modem/router in the same box).
If not then then it's to tell your ATA to use that (5060) port for calls. So look for SIP Port in your ATA and enter 5060 there. Just try.

Re: calling out, no my voice!? this happens all the time
Some years back I had the same problem calling rogers home phone from my new voip line (not FPL). I contacted my friend by other means to let him be aware of the issue. I suggested to him to complain to rogers that he can not receive calls from 905-499-xxxx. After 2 days, I was able to call him and other rogers home phone numbers.Mike Shinoda wrote:yea i got the GNET BB2060 and it doesn't have any firewall settings in the config. If you are in the same situation and if the party you are calling really wants your call
