new user help
Hello I am a new user and a little confused on how to set up my VoIP. I bought a 50$ key and ported my number but i tried to setup my info and im still getting a busy dialtone when i pick up the phone also the light for the phone jack is not even flashing green on my modem. I am using a thompson tg784.
- can someone tell me exactly what i need to put for sip uri under the telephone settings ?
- I am assuming the userrname and password will be the same provided by fongo ?
- I am assuming display name and abbreviated number does not affect the functionality of the phoneline ?
- lastly, registrar ports and proxy ports are all at 0.0.0.0 does this need to change and to what ?
thanks

*update*
I managed to proceed to where I have a dial tone and the green light for the phone jack 1 is on but i still cant make outbound calls. The call seems to fail after a few seconds and I hear no rings at all.
Any suggestions ?

Try this guide for assistance > http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=315
It shows a 780, but you should be able to work though it for the 784. Images 4,5, and 6 are probably most helpful for you. If you get stuck Kris was very kind to leave his phone number in there so you can call him on that

OK, sorry I didn't see your post as I was typing mine.
Have you checked online to see if their servers think you are registered or not? If you go to the page where it displays your Unlock Key information is should say if you are registered or not.
Also, you have said you attempted to make some calls, so maybe check your online call logs to see if anything actually went through.
It would also be worth sending in a support ticket to Fongo Support, see sig and read notes for this. They can see a lot more than we can and maybe able to pinpoint a missed setting.

Re: new user help
it shows me as registered but my old number is still showing even though I got a fongo email saying the transfer is complete. Should that number have changed or do i need to logon to a diferent account entirely. Also, do I need to change the sip uri AND username to my new number while keeping the existing password provided by fongo ?
thanks

Re: new user help
Have you ported in a number? bought the unlock key? or both?
If you ported in your number then your username (SIP URI I think it is called on the 784) should be your ported in number including the initial 1. You only need to log in with one account, your old number should get replaced with your new number. The correct details to use with the unlock key will always be the ones in your online admin. If they are showing the wrong number, it could be something has not been updated yet or has gone astray. A support ticket will be your best friend in those cases.
Some people have reported a delay between getting that email and the details being updated.

Can I check where you are seeing it showing you online? in your 784 (http://192.168.1.254/cgi/b/_voip_/dt/?be=0&l0=3&l1=2) or in your online admin page? (https://www.freephoneline.ca/showSipSettings)
Make sure the FPL online page is also showing the correct useragent. It should say it is connected by your 784.
