cannot receive incoming calls

Post by jdeslaur »

Hi,
I can connect outgoing calls without problem, Quality Ok.
But I cannot receive any incoming calls. All incoming calls fall into the voice mailbox "the person you are trying to reach is not available, please leave a message"
Using a sniffer, (connected just between the ISP modem and the Firewall), when simulating an incoming call (Calling my freephoneline number), we see nothing, no network traffic coming from fongo or freephoneline.ca
This is not the case when we connect an outgoing call. Then lots of traffic (SIP, RTP)

Is it possible that a configuration is missing on the Fongo servers or on my account at freephoneline?

Thanks for your help

Hi all,

The issue is solved.
It turned out that the issue was caused by a mis configuration on my side. In the account settings,Follow-me settings. This feature was enabled but no follow me number was configured, The system was setup to forward all calls to a non defined number, so essentially to no phone number, so falling back to the freephoneline voice mail. As soon as that setting was corrected, (disabled the call forwarding feature) we could correctly receive call.

So thanks for your reply. everything is Ok now. Great service.

try changing your sip server from sip.fongo.com to voip.freephoneline.ca or voip2.freephoneline.ca.
I used voip2 as i have had issues with voip in the past.
