New WinXP version won't connect to server

Post by Timmi »

After the previous version of FPL started to get a bit sketchy when connecting, I decided to downloaded the latest version (just a couple days ago, around July 20 or 21), and install that. Windows version, and running it under XP.

Now it will not connect to the server at all. (and there is this annoying video that just keeps on playing and playing, with only a pause but not stop button).

I checked the Windows firewall, and it is in the exceptions list with full priviledges. Currently there is no other firewall running or installed.

Any advice please?

Have you tried with the firewall turned off complete?
I was talking with another customer the other day and when he set a program exception in his firewall it didn't work, but when he added individual port exceptions it did work.
I didn't catch the name of the firewall though, so I'm not sure if it was the default Windows one or another

Forgot about that post.
It is working fine without any special config or exceptions required.
I use Comodo firewall and a Bell 2Wire DSL modem/router.
I am under the impression that there was just a period of time where, for some reason, it wasn't connecting.
