Softphone not working; got the config file, still no luck

Post by abe401 »

I've been a user of freephoneline since about February 2010. The softphone was working fine on both my wife and my computers til the past 3 months. I've had to replace my hard drive (unrelated issue) last month and still problems. I tried creating a new account and still the phone line doesn't work on either computer. I purchased the config file since the agent I spoke to told me it should work with my infeetalk ata with no problems, but now I can't get any support.

I've got a newborn as of this month and my wife needs some way to keep in touch with me when I go out. I've been without a job since December so I'd have been immensely pleased if the softphone would work, but now I've purchased the config file and a functional ata and still I have no home phone line...

Is there any way for me to get some help?

I'm sure a lot of FPL users would have helped you already if you provided information that would help identify where the problem is.

For a start...

- Have you correctly entered/saved your FPL SIP credentials to your Infeetalk ATA? Provide screenshots, if possible.
- How is your hardware config? Is ATA directly connected to the modem? Is ATA behind your D-link router? If ATA is behind router, have you correctly done port forwarding (although personally I use and prefer port triggering so I don't have to worry about static addresses)?
- Do you get dial tone or successfully make/receive calls when your is ATA directly connected to the modem?

:)

I've had no luck with configuring the hardware (I assume it's the problem since the ata is working w/acanac)

I've tried a direct connection to the modem and I wasn't able to get even a dial tone. When connected to the router still no dial tone.

I've forwarded the ports previously for the softphone which still doesn't work. I'd like to have the softphone working too as I do take my computer with me when I go out.

Take screenshots of the screens of the device and show us?
