I just got a call where the caller ID read: 'Private Caller'.
Often I don't take those, but in this case I did.
Female voice, "Copy center, we need to get the first 4 digits of your copy machine'.
Me, "I'm sorry, I didn't get that, can you say again please?"
She says again. I ask her what number she was trying to call. She hangs up on me.
Somehow I expect this call would lead to asking me for a credit card, probably some sort of a toner scam.
In any case it has me wishing we had some better call filtering options to block Private and Anonymous numbers.
I wish now I had been ready and just gave her 4 numbers to see where it was leading. Anyone else got this call as well?
If you do, maybe give them 4 numbers and see what path they try to lead you down. If they call me I'll probably let them send me a case of toner and an invoice and then let them try and collect the invoice.
FYI: 'Copy Machine' Scam call I just got

Did it show any number at all? If the caller ID was blocked, then you can stop calls like that by activating *77 on your PAP2T, as I did on mine.TSellers wrote:I just got a call where the caller ID read: 'Private Caller'.

However, if the caller shows any number (even spoofed ones), then my FPL phone will ring. I second your wish for better call filtering options.

Re: FYI: 'Copy Machine' Scam call I just got
Thanks for the suggestion, I just enetered the *77 code and will leave that in place.
Previously I tried forwarding my FPL to my paid DID service which has comprehensive filtering options, but that seemed to have it's own problems as well.
The one thing that has never been clear to me is which features of the PAP2T still work, and which ones are over-ridden by the FPL system. Would be nice if there was a list outlining which PAP2T features still work, of vice-versa, which FPL features over-ride the PAP2T.
