Hello,
Upon trying to install the soft I just downloaded, I get the following error message:
FPL requires an active Internet connection for installation. Please, check your network configuration and proxy settings. Well, I *do* have Internet (as can be verified by my ability to post this), but have no clue as to why this might be happening.
Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Abel

Perhaps you have a firewall that's blocking the traffic?abelitin wrote:Hello,

Try disabling all firewalls on your system and trying again.

Re: FPL soft not installing
Thanks for your reply.
I *do* have a firewall (Windows Defender), but I don't see why it's not being installed, as all other traffic (via http, ftp, SMTP/POP3, etc) flows normally.
Can you please give me more details as to which port/type of traffic the installer is targeting? I don't feel comfortable disabling the firewall altogether, and especially allowing a software to run in the background without knowing what it is doing and more importantly, *why* it needs to work without firewall.
Moreover, I didn't get a warning from Defender (as it is configured to ask me for my permission to allow or deny attempts), so I didn't think this was the cause, and that's why I didn't mention it in the initial post.
Thanks for your time and effort.
Cheers,
Abel

Re: FPL soft not installing
Alright. Problem solved (restarted the PC, tried again, and voila! No hint as to why, though!).
Thanks. Cheers,
