Hey guys,
I was able to get my hands on one of these devices and was having some trouble setting up my FPL number on it.
When I got the phone, it had all the old settings from the company I got it from. All of what I'm about to say was foreign to me yesterday but I've been doing a crapload of reading. I'm hoping SOMEONE here can help me out.
So when I got it, it was still using the Boot server from the companies original voip provider. What that basically does it load all the settings whenever the phone reboots. I tried clearing the SIP settings and putting my FPL settings in, but every time I needed to reboot, all the old settings would get put back in. When I tried clearing the boot server settings and rebooted, it gave me an error saying it couldn't find the .cfg file. So I did a lot of reading around and found out I had to set up a boot server of my own and supply the config files. Basically it's just a simple TFTP server with a couple text files that contain the settings, but the phone does not seem to be registering.
Does anyone have any experience with this phone or similar IP phones? Any help?
Adam

nevermind, I figured out the problem. I was giving the phone a static IP and for whatever reason my router wasn't detecting it. As soon as I used the DHCP, everything worked smoothly

adamm,
Perhaps if you have some spare time on your hands, you could post some screenshots of your configuration (editing out your number of course) as other users may find this helpful in configuring similar Polycom IP Phones or even the same model.
If you do, you can add it in here: http://forum.freephoneline.ca/viewforum.php?f=15
