When forwarding a call to a cell phone, is the number considered coming from my local Freephoneline number or the originating caller? For example, I get free LOCAL incoming calls on weeknights and weekends.... but not free incoming long distance calls. So if they called my freephoneline number and I forwarded that number to my cell, is it still an incoming long distance call?
Thansk in advance!

The call will show as coming from the number of whoever is calling you

Whether your incoming calls are considered local or LD have NOTHING to to with the number that is calling you. It has to do with your location.Konowl wrote:When forwarding a call to a cell phone, is the number considered coming from my local Freephoneline number or the originating caller? Yeah I know, but I was hoping that by having a local freephoneline number, someone say in New Brunswick could call that number then it gets forwarded to my cell phone using my freephoneline number, thus avoiding it showing up on my cell phone as a long distance call.

Why does it matter? At least this way you know who is calling.

I thought it was obvious perhaps not.
I have FREE INCOMING CALLS but *ONLY* at night. And ONLY local calls, so I need to know HOW call forwarded calls are handled/perceived by the cell phone carrier. I could give a crap about call display.

I try to avoid calling my cellphone provider as much as I try to avoid eating raw chicken left on the counter, but perhaps giving them a call and ask that very question could give you the answer you are looking for?
The reason I say that is perhaps it's not "the way the call is transferred" you need to know, but rather, the way "free local calls" applies to tranferred calls.
