I was talking with my friend about an other raise of my telephone provider (videotron) and it was getting expensive. He told me about freephoneline. He is using FPL for a few years now without any problem.

1) So far, I have created my account and I got my phone number
2) I have ordered the OBi100 adaptor
3) I have read a lot on how this work
4) I will get the 50$ key today or tomorrow
5) Next week I will try the installation.
6) If everything work (able to call and receive phone call with number when my account was created, I will ask for a transfer of # at 25$

As soon as I get the network adaptor I will start the process. I have found the document about how to connect Obi100 with FPL.

My friend sent me the 2 URL pages about how to connect the FPL and Obi100

So that give me 2 references ;)

One of my question is about the 911 number. Like I said my telephone and internet provider is videotron. Is there something special that I should do to make sure that the 911 is working correctly. I have a post about a guys having problem with 911, 611, 311….etc

Also in the document, I don’t understand this section:
DigitMap:
(911|[2--‐9]xxxxxxxxx|1xxxxxxxxxx|011xxxxxxxxxxxx.|*98|[6--‐7]x*xxxxxxxxxxx.)
Service
Provider
Info

Do I have to replace the XXX by my phone number that FPL gave me or IP address ??? I'm confuse?

Is there something special with videotron that I should now.

I hope that the setup will be easy has it sound.

You should be Ok with Videotron. I'm afraid it is one of those things that you will have to try it and see. most of the time things just work.

That is a Cisco dial plan, so I doubt it will work with an Obi, but to be fair I have never programmed one up. I don't know if this is the link your friend gave you but I would follow this one http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=16090

The xxx's in that dialplan represent wildcards for numbers, so you wouldn't have to change anything.

From what I understand, the Obi is pretty simple to set up.
