ok, after a few research I was able to access my voicemail.....you just need to dial you home phone number....
now, how do i setup the voicemail indicator....light that flash.
with my voicemail machine, when I had a voicemail, the red light was flashing on my phone.
now that I,m using the FPL voicemail, i need to have a light flashing?
my ata: obi100

Re: voicemail indicator
Dialing ' *98 ' goes straight to voicemail as well.
Not sure how to get a flashing light to work on your phone. I still have an answering machine hooked up (its the base unit for my Panasonic cordless phones).
The answering machine is set to answer after 4 rings whereas the FPL phone is set to go to voice mail after 5 rings. Basically my answering machine will always answer before FPL.

Re: voicemail indicator
The Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) takes a while to react to voicemails on FPL unfortunately. A few years ago it used to take up to 25 minutes! Now I think they have got it down to a few minutes.
If you are testing, make sure you leave 10 minutes or so after you leave to message to see if the MWI comes on, or goes off after you delete the message.
There is nothing to speed this up unfortuntely

Re: voicemail indicator
ok, i was able to setup the flashing light and the sound indicator in my ata obi100.
everything work fine but now the light is still flashing even like 20 min after i have deleted the email. I guess i will wait a little bit.
however, this is very not enoying (spelling).
i have also uncheck the MWIenable and x_MWIenable in my ata in order that this will remove the flashing light but no.
i have also uplugged my ata and my actual phone.
anyway, any help will be nice

Re: voicemail indicator
log into your account online and you can see all your voicemails there.
TBH the MWI has always been pretty useless here. I think it works for some, but for a lot it is just a pain rather than a help. I personally have set up an answer phone setup here so I don't have to bother with it.
By all means open a support ticket though.

Re: voicemail indicator
yes, I will like to go back to my answering machine instead of the FPL voicemail.
right now, in my ATA, i have uncheck all my MWI so no more FPL voicemail.
however, I still need to be able to remove that flashing light.
right now, I have done 2 voicemail test and I can see then in my voicemail log in FPL account. I will delete them later and I hope that this will remove my flashing light
(I'm at work so only later today I will be able to see if it work)

Re: voicemail indicator
I have uncheck the box MWIEnable and X_VMWIEnable.
However, should I also uncheck the default box? I think the default box is still check

Re: voicemail indicator
ok after some research, i found that a lot of person with my actual phone had the same problem. I do have a uniden phone and i was able to stop the flashing by pressing the FIND button on the receiver base. LOL the explication was that the voicemail was not sync (not sure what that<s mean)
it fixed my problem.
so now, on my ATA, everything is uncheck since I want to use my voicemail machine.
one last question, should I leave the ''messagewaiting'' uncheck or check? not really sure what that fonction mean.
thanks

Re: voicemail indicator
definition of ''messagewaiting'' as per obi100 manual:
This is a state rather than a configuration parameter, that
indicates if there are any new messages for this subscriber on
the service provider’s voicemail system
not really sure what that's mean

That's what indicates whether FPL believes you have voice mail. If it's checked, FPL's server says you have voice mail, and the voice mail indicator will appear on your phone.
If it's unchecked, the light won't flash on your phone. If it's checked, the light flashes on your phone.

Those are services. Do you want to have Message Waiting service enabled?maximebeauvais wrote: i have also uncheck the MWIenable and x_MWIenable in my ata in order that this will remove the flashing light but no.
Do you want Visual Message Waiting service?
Check = yes

Re: voicemail indicator
Did you mention you have an OBi100? If so, it does not seem to jive with your Service Provider setup, when your attachment shows 4 MaxSessions and 2 sets of MWIEnable, 1 and 2. But then, it does not make sense if OBiTALK "sees" your ATA Device, it should have recognized the correct device you registered, if you registered with OBiTALK?maximebeauvais wrote:I have uncheck the box MWIEnable and X_VMWIEnable.

Second question: can you try a different analog phone having a message waiting indicator -MWI to see if there is any problem? Don't mean to bash the Uniden brand, but if you try another phone with MWI, it can be just the phone that may not work well with FPL voice mail service. At least it's a suggestion because mine is an 110 (still one PHONE, not 2) and the phone is a Panasonic cordless.
edited 11 Feb 15 MWI is now not working on my setup, a ticke was open but no resolution yet. Thus, I don't really know what I talked about!
