Will My Security System Operate with the Fongo Home Phone
I don't have a cellular service on it. My security system requires a phone line. Is Fongo compatible with this? The guy at the alarm company said that most of these type of internet based phones aren't but that Rogers Home phone is. I'm hoping Fongo is as well.

To maximize success, configure your ATA with a fixed/high jitter buffer. I'm not sure if Fongo locks their ATAs or if they'll allow you to do that.

So, I'm not really techy with this sort of stuff. Thanks for your reply Mango, sincerely, but I really have no idea what you are talking about
To Fongo support. I read through the link to that previous discussion but I still don't know the answer to my question. Do you know if this should work or not?

Unfortunately there is no real answer. It should and some have reported that it does, but others have found that it doesn't.
Your only real course of action would be to try it, but I obviously realise that would mean buying the unlock key or Fongo Home Phone first which may not be ideal.
What you may want to consider if it doesn't work is to keep the phone line you have now and reduce it to the bare minimum that your Telco will let you and just use that for the alarm system. Then use a Fongo service for your main phone which has many features built in and offers lots of free calling areas around Canada. This way you may find you are getting a better phone service for less than you are paying now. It would depend on your situation though.
