Like other VOIP services, Fongo home phone and Freephoneline require an Internet connection and you don't need a landline phone line.
I'm using a Bell Fibe and discontinued my landline service since 3 years.

I just noticed your post in the "Mobile" section. So, if you are using FPL with a cell phone, you still need an Internet connection. If you don't have a data plan, you will connect thru a Wi-Fi network provided you have a compatible cell device.

Maybe they are confused in what you are asking. THEY probably do not offer a Fibe package so you will have to go with another provider.
You have not said as much, but I assume from your router you got the internet bundle from FPL, or WorldLine, (as I did years ago) and now you want to move to Fibe. You will have to go with another company for your internet now, but as a word of warning your phone number account will be linked with your DSL account. When they click the close button on the DSL there will be a high chance it closes the account with your unlock key (config file) on it. This will in turn mean you will loose your number.
I would strongly suggest getting in touch with support again and making it clear as to what you want. Essentially what you would like is your FPL account with your unlock key left in place but your DSL account cancelled when you move to Fibe (with another company).
Depending on how you get on and how much you need to make double sure you have your number at the end of the day, and MUCH safer route would be to open a new free FPL account and get a temporary number, do an internal port of that number from your current account to the new account (via this form http://support.fongo.com/entries/535548 ... ngo-Mobile), then get your DSL package shut down when you get Fibe up and running. Then if you still have your unlock key account after all that you can either port your number back into that account, or you may have to buy another unlock key.
Things have changed since I have their DSL package, but when I cancelled mine I was still left with my unlock key and account. You did mention that you can't access any accounts though, so you will have to get supports help with this one. The phone number you have is probably just support for the DSL, so look on FPL's support pages and open a ticket and start asking questions there as well.
Let us know how you get on, or if I have got what you are trying to do all wrong.
