voice mail and area code 289

Post by bogdan »

Hi,
i am hoping either one of the users or tech support people can help me with these two problems:

1. i sometimes have internet problems which affects my telephone (obviously :) ). Well i want to not loose any calls that may occur during that time, but i cannot figure out how to make sure that the call goes to voicemail when the internet service is out. I disconnected the modem and tried calling my number and there is always a busy signal and the call is not going to voicemail. Please guide me to the set-up/option where i can have the calls forwarded to the voice mail when the phone is not working.

2. call to some tel #s with 289 area code cannot be made. the system tells me that i don't have enough funds on my account. My understanding is that 289 is still GTA area code, so why is it that i was not able to make a call?

thanks

1) The server should refresh when your user agent is disconnected and direct calls to voicemail. I've seen some really rare occasions where this can take up to 30 minutes to happen for some users. When we have a little more time to research into this, we will see if anything at our end causes that to happen.

2) 289 itself isn't GTA, an exchange is defined as the first six numbers of the phone number. If you want to post the first six numbers of some of the phone numbers you're having trouble with, I can look them up and tell you where they reside.

I am experiencing the same problem with my voicemail. when not connected to the server, people calling me often get the busy signal. It would be great if it worked properly. :?
