When I use the softphone to retrieve voice mail message by dialing *98, the voice prompt always encounter delay and choppy. It is not smoothly pronounce the commands and cutting in pieces. Also when I push a button on the key pad, it is sometime slow response.
However, after a call is made or listening to the voice message, it is running smooth.
Only the voice prompt for commands from the server is not get playing smooth.
Would that be a deficiency in the softphone becuase it is Java based?
When I call in the mail box using a remote access number e.g. Vancouver 604-283-4011, the voice prompt is very smooth.
On the other hand, the speaker volumn and Mic volumn/mute control only work for on-board sound board but not working for a bluetooth headset.
There is no way to choose the audio output/input equipment like other softphone such as Magic Jack. So when I want to switch from on-board sound system to my bluetooth headset, I need to quit and restart the softphone. It is hassle if I need to switch audio equipment in the middle of a call (that is very often for a long call as the headset is running out of battery power). I have to terminate the call, shut down softphone and then switch device and restart softphone to get it accept the the switched audio equipment as the audio input/output equipment. However, then the speaker and mic volumn and mute control don't work if the new audio equipment is a bluetooth headset. Volumn/mute control must be done on the headset.
Something need to be improved in the softphone design.
My softphone version 3.0.1.0

Re: Voice mail prompts are choppy
You might want to check the stats of your internet connection first because as far as I know, the softphone has nothing to do with choppy voices. Mind if I ask who's your ISP?
