Oct 6, 2010 Upgrade-Related Bugs

Post by sl9280 »

1. I could not access my voice mail box no matter using softphone (*98) or the access number 778-803-4001. All I get is "Please hang up and try again". However, calling my phone number without answer it directed me to the voice mail box for leaving message. i.e. phone in the voice mail box working but not the retrieving function.

2. Also I am having problem accessing my company mail box access number using the softphone. I could connect the access number and get answered. However, every time I punched down the mail box number (my company phone number) it always prompt back as invalid mail box number. It was not happended before. Not sure if the DTMF codes were transmitted correctly through the in-band channel.

Expecting FPL will investigate into the first incident and appreciated if there will be any help for the 2nd incident. All happended after the Server Software upgrade on Oct 6, 2010.

#1 should be fixed shortly - several teams working on this right now.

#2 are you using ATA or softphone? Can you PM me the number you were having DTMF troubles on? I'd like to test myself. I'll be able to PM back by the morning.

Call log problem after Server Upgrade on Oct 6, 2010

Post by sl9280 »

I found that the call log didn't capture the "Call From" and "Duration" information after the Server upgrade on Oct 6, 2010.

Here is the capture of call log on Oct 5, and Oct 6, I made. I replaced the last 4 digit with xxxx for protecting my privacy.

Successful calls:

After server upgrade on Oct 6, the "Call From" is empty and the "Duration" is always "0". You see I make a call for more than 30 minutes but it show as 0:00 in the "Duration"

From To Duration Connect time Disconnect time City Cost
1866826xxxx 0:00 2010-10-06 11:32:14.0 2010-10-06 12:10:51.0 $ 0.0

Before Oct 6, "Call From" and "Duration" captured in the log.

From To Duration Connect time Disconnect time City Cost

There's a small sync issue right now with the call logs, should be resolved in the next day.
If you'd like to PM me your number and a copy of your post, I can try my best to get back in touch with you when it's fixed too.

Re: Voice mail box not working after Oct 6, 2010 Server upgrade

Post by sl9280 »

In a couple of trying to call my company's voice mail box using the softphone. I found that it only receive partial numbers e.g. I called in and punch down my mail box number 604xxxxx59. The reploy prompt said "60" then quiet for two seconds then "59" is not a valid mail box number. Please re-enter the mail box number provided by the system admin.

All the xxxxx I punched down were not received at the remote end.

In the last 5-6 tries, I only get one success to access my company mail box, but when I punched down the PIN, again it was not recevied correctly and denied my login.

It is the same for me to call my freephoneline mail box using the softphone at the freephoneline access number 778-803-4001. Say "77"..."6" is not a valid account, please try again.

In regards to the incoming calls - have you setup port forwarding? Incoming is only not working on an incredibly small number of accounts after the upgrade ( we know what's causing it, we're just waiting on the programmers working on fixing it ).

Port forwarding should fix things for you in the meantime.

Voicemail should also be back online by morning.

Not sure what's up with the service tonight, no out or in, yet my line is registered:
Name/username Host Dyn Nat ACL Port Status
FPL/1613366XXXX 208.65.240.142 N 5060 OK (21 ms)

Was working earlier today. I assume they're working on things, kinda scary though since my current VoIP line gets ported to FPL tomorrow. :|

+1 to that. Just got my ata up and running yesterday, then noticed the phone light turn off this afternoon. This is definitely hurting the wife acceptance factor of my PAP2T lol

Tracert looks great, hope you guys get it sorted soon :)

Hello, same thing for us here....
Unable to "change Follow-me settings"
and "change Details" TAB brings an error screen.
with a message saying the following error occured: " "
(***empty*** text for the error...)
Note: It worked for us at 20h50 (about 20 minutes ago),
then stopped working around 21h16. (about 10 minutes ago)

Note also that currently the "mydetails" tab shows
account balance of: NA

but it used to show "0.00$" just before the "crash".

It looks like it is working now :) (at around 22h20)
* my-details: account balance is back to $0.00
* follow-me (works)
* change-Details seems to work
but I am unable to change the "none"
for the option: "Enable voicemail to email"
When I click SUBMIT, I get the

("forward" or "copy" keep being reverted back to "none"
after clicking on the "Submit" button)

Re: Voice mail box not working after Oct 6, 2010 Server upgrade

Post by nicolas_dh »

Hello, I also used to get "Please hang up and try again" when trying
to access our own FPL voicemail box using *98 tonight,
But it seems it is working now (about 22h50 EDT)
We can edit/browse our voicemail box now using *98
:)
BUT... according to *98 calls, our voicemail box is empty,
but the envelope icon Image indicating "a new voice mail has been received"
remains "ON" on our phone display UTStarcom F1000
