Service down?

Post by polecat »

hi Mango,

I attempted a factory reset of my Linksys SPA 2102: **** 73738#. The unit doesn't respond to the factory reset. The power light flashes red every 1-2 sec. There is no way to login to the GUI. I've ordered a replacement SPA2102. Should arrive in about a week.

Also, as per your suggestion, I disconnected the ATA and shut down the laptop softphone. Once this was done, voicemail began to operate. Curiously, when the freephoneline.ca softphone is running, voicemail doesn't function. When the freephoneline.ca softphone is running, there is no incoming calls, outgoing calls, or voicemail. Once the softphone is shut down, voicemail operates smoothly. What do you think?

That's a curious problem. I don't use the softphone so perhaps some other member will have some suggestions. If you've changed or reconfigured your router recently, it might be worthwhile taking a look at that - in particular, disabling its SIP ALG if it has one.

Mango,

I did recently purchase a new router (ASUS). I'll try the softphone (laptop) connected directly to the modem tomorrow.

Cheers.

I tried to use laptop softphone, connected directly to the modem. No success. I'll have a better idea where I stand, once the new ATA arrives.

Cheers.

New ATA arrived. Problem solved. Also found the solution to the softphone issue: softphone was requesting a network ip my router couldn't support. Softphone now functions properly. Thanks for your input Mango! Cheers.
