Options of Fongo
Hi, somebody told me the following: "Fongo charges a one time fee to provide you the settings that you can enter in your phone's default dialer app settings so that you will not need the fongo app running for calls."
That would be super great if it is true. If true, how much is that upgrade and where to find it? Thank you.

This sounds like you are after the 'unlock key' in their sister company, www.freephoneline.ca
Take a look there.

Re: Options of Fongo
I went to see the VoIP Unlock Key on the site of FreePhoneLine and I have few questions:
1) It seems that with the VoIP unlock key set-up, on an iPhone, I will be able to use the Apple original dial app (the one that comes with iPhone iOS) and all the settings available on my phone?
2) Will it work on an iPhone and Public Mobile?
3) It says that it is a one time fee, does it mean that the only charge that I will have is to pay for the configuration (the credentials), and after that, I will only have charges from Public Mobile as usual?
Thank you for your help.

I am not 100% because I am not an Apple person, but if it is anything like Android, you should have a SIP dialer on your device. You could use those freephoneline SIP settings, and be able to make and receive phone calls though your SIP freephoneline account on your iphone.
Freephoneline on an iPhone seems a bit convoluted and expensive compared to the Fongo client, but yeah, Freephoneline should work with your iPhone and Public mobile. I cannot guarantee the results will be stellar all the time, because of variables like the quality of your 3G/LTE, but for the most part, most of the time, the results should be good.
The one time fee of $70 is all you pay. You have free phone service after that. If you chose to call out of country and the more rural areas of Canada, you need to buy credits, but calls to most city centres in Canada and incoming calls are free. As you said, you are still responsible for data charges from your carrier.
