Is Fongo a SIP soft phone app?
That might seems a stupid question but I wonder if Fongo is in the same class of soft phone SIP applications. I am asking because in SIP apps, they are concern with the ports use in iOS for exemple and Fongo has no settings for that. Is it because it is transparent to the user or if it is because Fongo is not a SIP app. Thank you to educate me a little bit.

Re: Is Fongo a SIP soft phone app?
The Fongo client is a VOIP app that uses the SIP protocol. The Fongo client uses it's own means to reach it's servers, with varied levels of success. As for user interaction in setting ports, it is probably a pointless exercise, and best to let the Fongo client figure it out, if it can. IOS, by it's proprietary nature tend to already be VOIP hostile, at least compared to Android.

Does this mean that Fongo for iOS doesn't work reliability as compared to Android?bridonca wrote:IOS, by it's proprietary nature tend to already be VOIP hostile, at least compared to Android.

Re: Is Fongo a SIP soft phone app?
I do not have any Apple products so I cannot compare. I do not think either the Fongo app for either platform is reliable enough, especially for incoming calls. That has more to do with VOIP over cellular data than anything to do with the Fongo software though.
