Fongo ads and data usage when outside a wifi zone

If I am outside a WiFi zone, will fongo use my data plan to display ads?

So, I just tested this. I turned off WiFi, fongo connected using my data plan.

Upon receiving a text, and then viewing that text in fongo, fongo used ~100KB of data. Upon opening fongo, and sending a text, fongo used another ~100KB of data.

This is significantly more than my other fongo account where I have paid for ads to be off. Thus, I think it is safe to assume that yes, Fongo uses data when outside a WiFi zone for its ads. Depending on how much data you have on your plan, this might not be an issue at all. For me however, I try to stay below 10MB in a month, so 100KB is a big deal.

As you confirmed already: Of course the ads would use data, just like any app on Android. They're coming from the web and they are images.

I wasn't surprised the ads would use data. I thought maybe fongo only displayed new ads when on wifi, and when outside a wifi zone, just displayed cached ads.
