Change my VoIP Unlock Key SIP password

Post by G.Smith »

Hello

I want to change my VoIP Unlock Key SIP password, how can I do that?

I purchased a VoIP Key this week but immediately after setting it up on my own hardware according to the freephoneline.ca instructions I started receiving phantom spam calls from numbers like 100, 101, 1001, etc, and I learned these could be SIP scanners attempting to steal my credentials. I have answered these calls few times and now I am concerned about the security of my SIP account, this is why I want to change the password, and even the number of possible.

Thanks

You can't without submitting a ticket: https://support.fongo.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Those are SIP scanners. They're not necessarily trying to steal your password. They are trying to break into your devices and use your services. Most passwords are not shown in ATAs. They're usually "****".
If so, your passwords are impossible to steal by simply accessing your ATA's interface.

Don't use DMZ. Do not port forward unless you have no other choice. Port forwarding is a security risk. Use a router with a good firewall.
