IAX2 Trunks Setup Configuration

Post by ynagy »

Hi Support Team,
I am just wondering if FPL offering IAX2 Trunks/Setup/Configuration?

The reason I am asking because I got hammered recently by hackers trying to attack my system on UDP 5060 port and Brute-Force to my system ... and reading more articles recommend switching from SIP over to IAX2 due to the weak security measurements around SIP and the way it setup/configured.

Currently IAX is not an option with freephoneline. You can change the SIP port to something other than 5060 with freephoneline, which will protect your from well over 99% of the SIP scanners out there.

Thank you for the quick response.
I logged in the portal where my SIP settings but there's no option to change the port. How can I change the port 5060 with freephoneline?

Thank you in advance.

On whatever SIP device you are using you can change the SIP port. For example voip4.freephoneline.ca:6060 Take a look here. http://support.freephoneline.ca/hc/en-u ... redentials

Thank you for the prompt and quick reply. based on the article you shared, I will have only 2 options either 5060 or 6060 in order to communicate with FPL. is there any other port(s) I can use?

I do not know if you can still do this, but at one time, you could use any port you wanted. I never had any call to do that, so I would be poor to offer details. I just know 6060 is a port you can certainly use, and to will scare away most SIP scanners. 6060 was meant to fix another specific problem, but it should work with your concern just as well.
