DID number didww.com config with freephoneline.ca

Post by ppz »

Hello folks !

Glad to post some questions here.

I have a freephoneline number in montreal and it works fine with all capabilities (forward to MJ number, voice mail and so).

I added a ukrainian did with didww.com and I (in fact we) have a problem to link this did and my freephoneline.

I thought that adding the 1514xxxxxxx@voip.freephoneline.ca as a sip provider will be enough, but unfortunately, it isn't...

so for now, I use the redirection to my skype account (work fine), but is it somebody who knows a way to solve this ? The guys from didww said that maybe freephoneline did not accept incoming voip calls, but I don't trust this answer ;-)

Note : I can use my freephoneline account to call any countries, including ukrainia, with my paid account, so no problems to reach that country.

So, any help will be nice !
Regards,

FPL does not accept incoming SIP calls, which is what you look as though you are trying to do.

Depending on your setup it might be possible, but will probably involve a 3rd party. If you have a static IP, then you might find that dialling anything@yourIP (eg home@111.222.333.444) calls your phone.

This has been asked a few times before I think, and each time we all say it would be nice to be able to receive SIP calls, but it doesn't change.

Thank you Jake !

So, If I understand correctly, FPL is "just" able to originate sip calls ? Or I need to pay some extras to did forwarders to be able to receive calls on my pstn number, even it's a voip number, right ?

Btw, do you know "cheap" companies that allow that redirection ?

international DID ==> pstn ==> FPL number

because for now I have International DID ==> Skype ==> redirect to pstn (2c/min), a little bit tricky isn'it ?

Because didww ask 15$/month for pstn redirection.

Thank you all

You can either use another provider (if you have a 2 line ATA) that allows incoming SIP calls or register FPL with an online PBX (e.g. pbxes.org) and then forward your DID to that.
