Mediakis MIC 505W

Post by gt2cirs »

Need help setting this device. Attach is a screenshot of SIP Settings Page. The device is ringing when you call it but no voice. Another thing I can't make a call using this device. My router is a dual band D-Link DIR 825. I will appreciate any advice to make this device operational.

You'll need to setup your D-Link router to forward all required UDP ports to your SIP wireless phone.

You might also want to setup a rule in the router to re-assign a fixed IP address (static) to your phone so that the port forward rules will never need to be adjusted again.

Can you locate a page of the settings to adjust the voice codecs (or vocoder) ? If so, what's it currently set at, and what are the available options?

Since this isn't a complete and working configuration, as the device configuration section states it's for, I'm moving the topic to a more appropriate section.

It seems to be all setup properly.

I suggest you try the Softphone application (with proper port forwarding) to make sure everything it right.

If it's something with your phone, I'm afraid no one here knows how to make that one work... Are you sure it's even possible to use with other providers than Mediakkis?

I downloaded and installed the softphone today. When I call the fpl number using my cell phone it rings and when you accepts the call it says ON CALL showing a timer on the softphone but still ringing on the cell phone. I think somewhere I'm getting a communication problem here. What ever problem I got with my sip device the same thing is happening in the softphone application. Need more tips or suggestions on how to make it work with my Dlink DIR-825 Router.

I do not think you want to hear this, but from the bit research I did, you seem to have a otherwise decent router that is utterly crap at port forwarding and sip. What do you have for a modem? Maybe you can use the modem as the router, and make the dlink an access point. Unless there is a good firmware update, I believe you are in for some hurt using the dlink for sip.
