Softphone question in windows 7

Is there a way to make the softphone use the default communication device in windows 7?
If not, is there any plan to include this feature in the near future

Right now the softphone is set to use the default Windows audio devices for playback and recording.

Hopefully in a future version the ability to set the devices within the application itself will be available.
