Why call-frowarding setting doesn't work on the phone

Post by j8van »

The phone is connected to ATA, every usual function is fine but when I set call-forward to another number (*72, *68, *90, *92 etc. plus destination #, and I've tried many local #s and FPL covered area #s) it always turns to voice mail without forwarding to the destination number.

I know in my online account I can set FollowMe to the # I want, but setting thre my phone set is an much easier way and the above problem would have to be fixed eventually.

Could Admin, Steve or anyone help? Thanks a lot!

When you dial the functions to setup call forwarding, what do you hear as a result?

If it's fast-busy, it could mean that your ATA is not set to recognize those sequences. You would then need to adjust the dial plan (dial string) to allow such functions to be dialed out to FreePhoneLine's servers.

That's just an idea though, I have never actually tried to use those functions.

Thanks Laurent!

No busy tone at all, just directly goes to voice mail greeting.

The dial plan already has |*xx| in the string,
The Line setting has all forwarding subscription service chosen "yes",
The Regional setting has:

Code: Select all

Vertical Service Activation Codes
Call Return Code: *69
Blind Transfer Code: *98
Cfwd All Act Code: *72
Cfwd All Deact Code: *73
Cfwd Busy Act Code: *90
Cfwd Busy Deact Code: *91
Cfwd No Ans Act Code: *92
Cfwd No Ans Deact Code: *93
Cfwd Last Act Code: *63
Cfwd Last Deact Code: *83
... ...
all look fine to me, I really don't know which part's causing the problem.
