Android App is not working properly
Hi,
This evening (29/01/2019), the android app stopped working properly. I am able to connect to the app (through my account). But when I am trying to make a call I get the following message : "Error Retrieving Rate" and "Call Failed : Call can not be completed, you do not have an active Fongo connection".
I have tried to use both Wifi and 4G. The same messages.
I have tried the app after rebooting, after reinstalling the app, after sign off ... always the same message.
When I call my Fongo mobile number I am reaching my voicemail after several rings.
Several of my friends using the same Fongo Mobile started having the same issue this evening.
I also have a freephoneline that seem to work properly.
There was an error when i have screenshot the number ... but the same messages are seen if the number is the correct number : 418 656 7777
Another abnormal message that is in the status bar is "Fongo : Loading Configuration ...". This seems to be source of the problem.
Fongo Version : 3.10.6.28
Android Version : 8.0.0
Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Android App is not working properly
Same here.
it just says "loading configuration"
I messaged other family members who use Fongo on FB and they all say the same thing. Both Android and iOS are not working.
Status page says operational but it's obviously not.

Re: Android App is not working properly
The icon at the top of my screen for Fongo Works stays green instead of the usual grey and when I expand it stays on Loading Configuration...
I tried to logout and log back in, but when I try, I get the following error message: Uh Oh! Please check your network connection and try again.
I tried, rebooting my phone, uninstalling and reinstalling the app with the same result.
Please help.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Android App is not working properly
Dear All,
This problem has re-appeared. My application suddenly stopped working a few weeks ago.
Has anyone been able to reach technical support? I have opened Ticket #454665 but they just stopped answering after asking one or two questions.

Which one are you visiting?AlexO wrote:I am having the same issue while travelling out of the country
I just tried a U.S. IP, and it works fine on iOS with Fongo Mobile.
Submit a ticket: https://support.fongo.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Let them know what country you're visiting, the brand and model of the smartphone you're using, and its firmware version.

Re: Android App is not working properly
Now even logging in doesn't work!
Here's my submitted ticket:
I cannot use Fongo on my Android phone while travelling in Israel.
Notification says "Authenticated" for a while, then changes to "Authentication failed".
This happens both on WiFi and on cellular data (with a data-enabled SIM and plan).
Enabling or disabling "Alternate Fongo Connection" has no effect.
Enabling or disabling SIP ALG GW on the Wifi router has no effect.
I have tried all the suggestions in https://support.fongo.com/hc/en-us/articles/212434106 and nothing works.
I tried logging out and now I cannot even log in, it says "Uh Oh! Please check your network connection and try again"
Please assist!
Fongo version: 2021.11.0
Phone: Moto G7 play, Hardware version: PVT, Model number: XT1952-4
OS: Android 10, Build number: QPYS30.52.22-11-4
Note: Access to the Fongo web site works fine.

Re: Android App is not working properly
Turned out the providers block the SIP protocol. Installing a free VPN app solved the problem.
Just for reference, I did some research and found three reputable VPN providers that also offer free plans with decent (or no) data caps:
- Hide.me
- WindScribe
- Proton VPN
All three support split channel, which allows me to only route the Fongo app through the VPN, which is important because the free plans slowed my bandwidth to 2Mb/s.

Re: Android App is not working properly
I was playing with a pseudo VPN called Cloudfare 1.1.1.1 Warp. https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... n_CA&gl=US It's advantages are that it is free, the company running it is reputable, and it does not kill the battery. It is not a full blown "secure" VPN, but good enough for what you need from Fongo.
