speaker and headset playback

I have stereo speakers and USB headset both connected to PC for use with FPL softphone. Default playback is set to USB headset so nothing comes out of the speakers as long as the headset is connected. This means I can't hear the phone ring through speakers unless I am wearing the headset, and of course I am not at my desk wearing the headset all the time.
Anyone knows how to enable ringing on the speakers while USB headset is connected?

Sadly, a lack of audio device selection is one of the shortcomings of the freephoneline client, and considering the programming language used, is a bug that would be difficult to rectify.
