No Audio On Both Ends

Post by Zish »

Hi,

I downloaded the Bud Light Phone app and registered for a free phone number. That worked fine, but when I make or receive calls, there is no audio on both ends. Please help.

Thanks.

Softphone requires the following UDP ports to be open and forwarded to your computer:
13000, 13001, 5060, 5061, 6060 and 6061

edit, im assuming you have a router

Hi,

Yes I do have a router. I have a D-Link DIR-655. I have tried opening the ports, but that does not seem to work. I have also tried it without the router and I get the same results. The calls are able to connect, but their is still no audio on both ends. What else would I be missing?

Thanks.

What type of internet connection do you have, and from what company?

When you tried without the router present, how did you set that up?

Hi,

I do not know exactly what type of internet connection I have. My internet is provided by my University. As for setting it up without the router, I am using a MacBook Pro, and all I did was plug it into the ethernet port on my wall. There is no way to open ports in the firewall on a Mac, the only thing you can do is either allow or block an application, as far as I know. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

First of all, it's entirely possible that your university is blocking this type of traffic. In an effort to keep network costs down, many colleges and universities block a lot of traffic that isn't "ordinary web and email". You should check with your university's internet policies and see what's permitted, and what isn't. Perhaps they do allow VoIP and they might require you you sign up for the service to activate it, for example.

In any case, the type of phone service offered here will not work in large networks when the outside ports can't be forwarded back to the phone application. I'm not sure about that, perhaps there are ways to make it work, so other members might chime in here.

Thanks. I will check what my university's internet policies are. And hopefully other members can help with the port forwarding, if the university is not the issue.

Hi,

The university is not the issue. The Bud Light Lime app works fine on my computer, but the Bud Light app does not. Any suggestions?

Thanks.
