How can i use fongo grandstream ata with freephoneline

Post by Linksys PAP2 Adapter »

I got a used Grandstream 801 ATA on Marketplace , it says on the box that it is from Fongo.

I am using Freephoneline though and I am unable to access the ATA with admin password. Tried the reset button on it but it didnt help.

Is there a way to access this ATA?

The Fongo Home Phone, Grandstream ATA is likely locked to Fongo's provisioning server. The seller should have made a request to remove the ATA from the provisioning server before trying to sell it.

a. Submit a ticket and request that Fongo remove the ATA from Fongo's provisioning server.

https://support.fongo.com/hc/requests/new (choose Fongo Home Phone since it was their ATA)

Locate the MAC address of the device. It is the 12 hexadecimal digit number on the bottom of the unit.
Provide the MAC address in the ticket.

b. Keep in mind that only one registration is permitted per VoIP unlock key. A single line on an ATA is one registration. A line on another ATA is another registration. When using the same proxy server, only the most recently registered device will ring for incoming calls. Registration is required for incoming calls to work properly. Also, each FPL phone number only supports 2 channels: two calls can be active at anytime (1 incoming and 1 outgoing; 2 outgoing; 2 incoming) with a single FPL phone number.

Use the same email address that you use to submit tickets. Do not use the same password as your Freephoneline

Support staff does not respond to tickets on weekends or Canadian holidays.

Fongo does have https://twitter.com/Fongo_Support. I'm not sure if anyone

Similarly, they appear to be on Facebook:

Well, there is another method that you could try yourself involving disconnecting the ATA from the internet so that the ATA can't download Fongo Home Phone configuration settings after being reset via IVR (then having to change a couple settings and delete links), but I'm not sure that Fongo would approve of me posting the instructions on these forums because an active Fongo Home Phone user might read my post and mess everything up. The surest method involves getting Fongo to remove the ATA from Fongo's provisioning server, particularly if custom firmware is being used.
