Fongo sent an inactivity warning email to me about my Freephoneline number. I ported this from another carrier to Freephoneline several years ago, which means I have a 5 years to make an outgoing call (according to Fongo’s dormant policy).
I do not remember whether the last day I made an outgoing call was 5 years ago or 60 days ago. And, Fongo is not able to tell me. Does anyone know what Fongo bases their inactivity warning on for account holders who ported the number from another carrier?

Re: Inactivity Warning
You have 5 years starting from the day you ported the number into your Freephoneline account and not 5 years from when the last call was made.
This is what I was told:
"Warnings start going out a year before the deletion, and they are sent monthly. Users will have had 60 months of DID parking by the time the account is deleted. Even if the account is deleted, the user will have 2 months to reclaim the number before its returned to the original carrier. "
However, there is no dormant account policy anymore for VoIP unlock key accounts.
Personally, I would get the desktop application working on a PC and make an outbound call just to get the dormant status lifted. By making outbound calls, you can ensure the account will be active until June 3, 2025, which is when the desktop application is terminated. You then have 60 days to make up your mind, and I suggest making up your mind by June 3, 2025. If you don't want to buy a VoIP unlock key and don't want to switch to Fongo Home Phone or another Fongo service, then I would port out, if the number is important to you.
For what it's worth, I wouldn't play a game of chicken with Fongo because some cellular service providers' representatives (or just generally) are inexperienced with porting requests involving VoIP service providers. Some people have had to hound the porting team to do it properly, which can involve multiple requests by the customer until porting is completed successfully. If a problem occurs, that eats time.
Also, if a Freephoneline account is terminated, the number can't be ported out.

Re: Inactivity Warning
Thanks for the suggestion, but I use a Mac and the App Store does not have Freephoneline.
I will likely port it to my Fongo Mobile app. If I do this, I assume that there is no point in buying the VoIP unlock key.

There was a Mac download from https://www.freephoneline.ca/downloadDesktopApplication, but the file has been removed, unfortunately.
People got it working using gatekeeper: viewtopic.php?p=74309#p74309
