911 questions

Post by dlehtinen »

Good day.
My first question is how i change the payment option from monthly to annually?

If i remove the 911 from the dial string (911|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|1xxxxxxxxxx|011xxxxxxxxxxxx.|*98|[6-7]x*xxxxxxxxxxx.)will this prevent 911 calls from working? I am looking to remove the ability to call 911 from one of my devices.

"Can I prepay my 911 fees?

Switch to Annual Billing

We can change your billing frequency from monthly to yearly, which would be $23.40 + tax per year. This would use the credit card that you have on file.

Please contact us if you would like to proceed with this."

If i remove the 911 from the dial string (911|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|1xxxxxxxxxx|011xxxxxxxxxxxx.|*98|[6-7]x*xxxxxxxxxxx.)
That dial string was only recommended for old Linksys ATAs, and "[6-7]x*xxxxxxxxxxx." makes no sense at all and isn't applicable to anything normal. Delete it. No one is dialing 6 or 7 followed by another digit, then *, followed by at least 10 more digits.

Does dialing 67*5191234567 make sense to anyone? No? How about dialing 79*4167797777? That still doesn't make sense.

A. For Obihai ATAs, navigate to Service Providers–>ITSP Profile (FPL)–>General
It would be better to use ([2-9]11|1xxxxxxxxxx|011XX.S3|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|*98||988)

B. For Linksys ATAs, navigate to Line (being used for FPL) tab-->Dial Plan
Use ([2345689]11|988|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|1xxxxxxxxxx|011xxxxxx.|*98)

will this prevent 911 calls from working?
I am uncomfortable helping people remove the ability to dial 911 from their devices. Do that at your own risk, and I accept no responsibility for any issue or avoidable danger arising from anyone removing the capacity to dial 911 from their devices. Doing so (or not calling 911) won't prevent 911 monthly or annual fees. I won't be responding to public requests for instructions on how to disable 911 dialing.
