I am a happy user of freephoneline.ca. I want to get the details about the internet services offered by the freephoneline. Right now I am with Rogers Lite and get 5.96Mbps Download/252Kbps upload speed.
I have checked the freephoneline website for internet in additional services, but it is not very clear. Admin or FPL-Steve, Please send me the details of internet services.
Thanks.

Re: Internet from freephoneline.ca
I have the DSL, so I can give you some details.
The speeds are the ~6mb and ~.6mb up

As far as I can tell it is basically the Bell Internet Performance package, but it is unlimited bandwidth and not capped @ 25gb.
I bought the bundle which gave me the 784 modem, a config file for a FPL number, a headset (not really a deal maker, but it is sort of OK), the dry loop installed, and they would have ported a number; but I chose not to.
The 1st and 3rd payments are $149.99 and the other 10 (ie 2nd, 4th, 5th, etc) for the first year are $31.85. Both prices are plus tax. After the first year the price does go up. The modem comes pre-programmed and you should be able to just plug it in when the dry loop is installed and the service turned on. It all went fine, apart from a silly thing that I did, but support helped me fix it quickly. The modem you get has two phone ports on them so you don't need to but a separate ATA.
All in all I am very happy with the switch and I will shortly be setting up my daughter with the package in her apartment.
Anything else you would like to know from a user, I can try and help.

I'm wondering how FPL is going to stay unlimited bandwidth when Bell implement's it's UBB for wholesale customers.

Re: Internet from freephoneline.ca
Well, the prices for the first year, as I see it, will be.
1st you will need your dry loop installed - $38.00 one time fee.
MONTHLY CHARGES (1st year only)
Internet - $19.95 per month
Dry Loop - $8.95 per month
Access Fee - $2.95 per month
The above prices assume you rent or buy a modem from them. There are 3 choices.
516 - Buy $99.99; Rent $6.99 per month ($20 deposit)
585 - Buy $149.99; Rent $6.99 per month ($35 deposit)
784 - Buy $229.99; Rent $8.99 per month ($65 deposit)
You say you have an ATA, so the cheapest you could do for one year is -
Internet $19.95
Dry Loop $8.95
Access fee - $2.95
Modem - $6.99
TOTAL $38.84 per month + $38.00 one time charge for dry loop + $20.00 modem deposit.
If you are planning to have this for more than one year, renting the modem is probably not the best way to go.
So basically you have $31.85 per month for all the internet stuff (internet, dry loop, access fee), then you have to buy or rent a modem on top of that.
The second year (at current rates) will be $43.85 for the internet bits instead of $31.85.
I will admit, the pricing on the site is not simple. It would be much better to have a single rate displayed, rather than; this plus this, and that or this.
