Obihai OBi110 as an ATA for FPL?

Post by TSellers »

I recently seen some posts regarding the Obihai OBi110 ATA. While it's main hope for a market share seems to be that it is an ATA for Google Voice, it apparently could work with other services such as FPL?

So it begs the question would there be any reason why FPL users may want to consider it over the other ATA's that are currently popular for FPL?

When it is available, let me know! :) I hope the next revision can also do Skype. I guess what I am really looking for is a mini asterisk box that is $50 or less.

I have both the OBi110 and OBi 100. They both work well with FPL. FPL is a little short on features. However these little units which cost about $50, can supplement the FPL service with additional features. Unique to the OBi, we can get Google Voice setup and communicate using a regular phone. No computer required. We can bridge calls from/to SIP, PSTN, free OBi trunk, Google Voice. Includes 9 digit DID which can be used to call other OBi units for free. There is a softphone app which hooks into the OBi. One of my favorite features is the callback. I have unlimited incoming on my cell plan. This feature alone has saved me enough to pay for the unit. The dial plan also allows for simultaneous ringing of a group of up to 4 different numbers. You can call into the unit and make a DISA call using the auto attendant, even over the Google Voice acct. Many other features too numerous to mention. Before I start sounding like a commercial, best to have a look in their forum and get an idea of what it's all about. There seems to be a few on the forum with FPL accts, including myself.
