BudPhone Desktop-Followme ring time too short

Post by tigerking »

Just registered the Budphone Deskphone as well on top of the mobile application.

It is similar to the FPL desktop phone.

However, there is a bug in the Followme setting.

1. For Follow Me option, "Ring Until voicemail". It allows to choose from 1 to 5 rings and I assume for a "always" FollowMe forwarding, it will wait for 5 rings before switch to the voice mail box. However, for a selection of "5" it actually take 5 seconds to switch and not 5 rings (average 2 seconds per ring and it should be 10 seconds). 5 seconds is really too short to response to a call!! Even tough 10 seconds is already too short. FPL allow up to 20 seconds.

Hope this can be fixed.

2. In the Follow Me number Setting tab. User should be able to set the "Number of Rings" try calling the forward number before hit the voice mail box. Again, after setting it up, it is actually the number seconds instead of number of rings. I tried to set it to 12 rings, it is actually ring less than 12 seconds and then forward to the voice mail box.

Long story short, the FollowMe seems useless as you have to pick up the phone between 5 to 12 seconds that is a bit tough while you are on the go, driving, upstair, etc.

Hope FPL will improve this for Budphone server application to make it a real number of rings instead of number of seconds.

Otherwise, without the FollowMe, it will deminish the incentive of using the Budphone as a prime number or a call forward number for incoming calls.

I'm moving this post out of the mobile forum, as it doesn't pertain to the mobile app.

This bug should be fixed shortly.

Steve,

Just wonder when will this bug be fixed? I am waiting on this being fixed in order for me to proceed to purchase the configuration file to make it a real landline phone. I love the number I got and don't want to re-register one on FPL although FPL number have a longer ring time (>30 seconds).

No matter what side I shall be on the configuration purchase money will go to FPL. The earlier the bug get fixed the earier you get my dollars!

Steve,

Just tested my Budphone number today (Feb 27, 2011), the bug still not being fixed. The FollowMe waiting time still be too short (setting of 5 rings is actaully 5 seconds to ring my Budphone before hit the voicemail), and 12 rings is actually 9 seconds to ring the followme number before hit the voicemail.

It still not being fixed.

Would be possible for FPL to fix it behind the scene while waiting for the bug being fixed on the Budphone web API?

I am a bit frustrated that problem related to the Budphone Application (from your honour customer Budwiser's web site budphone.ca) is not being handled seriously.
