Some scheduled network maintenance around 3AM EST on February 16, 2011 may cause a service interruption lasting no longer than 5-10 minutes.

I just saw this announcement, but at 3am I was sleeping...

I'm curious if it would be feasible for you to send out these announcements via email to customers? I don't check the forums every day, and if I'm caught in a scheduled maintenance window...ouch?

When major upgrades occur that we know will for cause a visible period of downtime, we will send out notifications. However, small maintenance windows like last weeks, which may or may not have interrupted service for more than a couple seconds or minutes, will only be posted here in the forums. I will certainly look into our options for finding a way to better mass-communicate this without necessarily filling up 50,000 people's inbox's when only a couple hundred may be awake when it's done
