I have this ongoing issues for weeks. I have an HT-502 ATA and the phone rings and there is nobody on the other ends. It does this usually twice in a row.
I have my logs redirected to another computer to analyze and the call does not seem to come from FPL, and there is no trace from the call in my calling logs either.
It does so at any time of the day, most of the time between 1 and 4 AM. I hate it as it wakes me up but also my two kids.
I'm almost to the point where I will unplug the phones at night if I do not find a viable solution. Anyone as seen this type of ghost caller/fake call ? Any pointers would be appreciated.

Re: Phone rings, no caller
I do not have a HT-502, but I had a dlink DVG-1402S that would ring when it reconnected back to the internet.
I set my home ATA on a timer so it would be off when I was at work, and I could then use an ATA I had at work, Maybe a timer is a solution, $2 at Dollarama!

Re: Phone rings, no caller
What are the chances you have port 5060 forwarded from your router to your ATA?

Re: Phone rings, no caller
This is eaxctly what I have. As per suggested in the FAQ. I suspect this was the issue... but what exactly ? And can I simply remove the port 5060 forwarding to my ATA ?

Re: Phone rings, no caller
See what happens when you forward an unused SIP port like 5062 instead. Also, make sure you have an unused RTP port forwarded to the ATA, like port 5004. Make sure the ATA is set up to receive these ports.

Re: Phone rings, no caller
Basically, what you are seeing (or hearing in this case) is a POS hacker looking for open SIP services so they can make some free calls. I'm not familiar with the Grandstream line of products, so maybe someone who is can tell you exactly what needs to be done to fix it.
I downloaded the user guide and 2 settings look like they may help you here:
Check SIP Incoming UserID
Anonymous Call Rejection
Maybe someone else has better idea's.

Re: Phone rings, no caller
"Allow incoming SIP messages from SIP proxy Only", set that to yes and you will only accept calls from FPL. That will solve it for you.
