Hi,
I have Acer Liquid E smart phone with Android 2.2. Would like to setup my Freephoneline using SIPdroid software ver 2.1 on my Liquid Acer E. I have paid $50 for the configuration. My settings at home desktop phone connected with Linksys ATA box is running for more then a year with no issue.
I have entered all the required settings in the Acer Liquid E smart phone including the following:
Under " Settings > SIP Account 1 "
-Authorisation Username = my phone number starting with '1'
-Password = my password
-Server or proxy = voip.freephoneline.ca
-Username or Caller ID = my phone number starting with '1'
-Port = 5060
-Protocol = UDP
The following are not selected as I want to test it first on Wi-Fi.
-WLAN
-3G
-EDGE
-VPN
Under 'Settings > Call Option'
- Preferred Call Type = Sipdroid when available
Under 'Settings > Advance Options'
I have not selected 'Use STUN Server'
Not sure about the following
1- I believe I do not need to use 'PBXes' but I am not sure.
2- Where to enter Dial Plan on Sipdroid configuration on my Acer Liquid E that I see on my Linksys box.
I am unable to make any successful setup / connection to make any call. In the main screen where 'Phone number' suppose to be entered, the box has orange colour border. My understanding is if every thing is setup correctly a Green dot will appear on the top left hand side of the screen. I do not get any Dot. But when I select 3G and EDGE to see if I can make any connection through the carrier network (Rogers) I get a RED dot on the top left hand side of the screen which means the settings are OK but it may be blocked by Rogers. I believe somewhere else in one of the other message boards on the Freephoneline it is said that Rogers do not block these ports to use their 3G data service for phone calls.
Need help if any one already tried SIPdroid 2.1 with Freephoneline.
Thanks.
Sohail

Re: Need help - Sipdroid 2.1 settings with Freephoneline
I use Linphone on my Samsung Captivate on Rogers 3G to connect to my server at home, it works just fine. Maybe Rogers has started blocking "voip.freephoneline.ca".

Well my Internet service at home is with Teksavvy not with Rogers. So I am trying to test my Acer Liquid E at home with Wi-Fi connection. If my desktop phoe can work then Acer should work on Wi-Fi as Teksavvy is not bloking it.
My cellphone is with Rogers and has 3G data service. I am trying to see if it can work first on Wi-Fi then I'll worry about the 3G connection with Rogers.
