We are happy to roll out version 3.0.3 of our popular softphone client today.
This version brings about several small changes and updates to the existing softphone platform, including;
Follow-me button updated to communicate via secure SSL back to our website. This goes in tandem with the recent addition of SSL and HTTPS to all registration and user control panel pages on our website.
"No connection to the server" message now has an alert icon which can be clicked and will show a list of common reasons why the user's softphone may not be able to connect with us
Menu restructuring
Menu addition: contact support
Blacklist clarification added: Blacklist page has a line clarifying that blacklisting only applies to the softphone at present time.
Test Connection - test connection window size has been reduced, and test results have been made easier to understand
User registration string has been changed from phonenumber@voip.freephoneline.ca to simply phonenumber. A lot of users thought this registration string was also an email address and/or SIP URI because of the format it was displayed in.
Existing softphone users will be prompted to auto-update to this new version when opening their application. The download links on our website are also updated to reflect the new software download.
You may get the software phone app from the download section of our website (www.freephoneline.ca); alternatively, if you already have the software you will be prompted for an update on opening it.

I have 3.0.1.0 installed, that doesn't prompt me to upgrade? When should it prompt me?
If you are not being prompted for an update, you're either not connected to the Internet (Unlikely, considering what you've just opened), or you're missing part of the core installation - I'd recommend using the above link to our download page.
