QoS on Thomson Speedtouch TG784

I am planning to replace my Linksys PAP2-NA with Thomson 784 modem/router and wanted to know if Thomson 784 modem/router does QoS or would still need a Linksys router to do the QoS.

Scanning over the specs, it looks like the Thomson Speedtouch TG784 can do QOS. It does not seem you need the PAP2, unless you want to use it on another VOIP account.

I have the 784, and although I see the QOS in the spec sheets, I do not see a menu for such. So unfortunately I cannot answer fully.

By default I believe the 784 should give a higher priority to voice (I remember seeing it deep in one of the config documents I was reading over back when we started carrying it). More advanced QoS control is possible, but modifying any settings on a device purchased or rented from us will impose certain support restrictions (our staff are trained to support the device setup using our configuration only) and might void our company warranty on it too.

I have a higher respect for the Thomson Speedtouch TG784 then! The average user should not have anything to do with QOS settings, they will, more likely than not, mess it up anyway. That the device can handle QOS by itself it quite an advancement!
