Strange Phone Call from FPL...I Think

I just got a phone call from 866-515-5550. They called my cell, not my FPL number.

The person I spoke to told me he wanted to check my address for 911 purposes. He had my correct address, but didn't have my postal code.

He then asked me if I was familiar with the concept of an ATA and porting my home number...I did that months ago.

Next, he tried to sell me LD credit...I already have at least a year's supply in my account.

This guy didn't have the info that I feel he should have access to. Was this really FPL or some sort of scam?

He sounds like a Freephoneline staffer. I do not think they are give all the information they need. I know I had to scratch my head when my Clearpoint Telecom account was treated like a Freephoneline account by a staffer. Both use the same gear, but are separate.

With our outbound call campaigns, the agents are given a list of phone numbers to call and as bridonca said, unfortunately all the information was not communicated in this case.
