Hi, I have been testing the freephoneline soft-phone on a MacBook for a few weeks now. I want to buy the config file, but the service has been too unreliable to take the risk. Hopefully somebody can help...

The biggest problem I have is not hearing the person on the other line once a connection has been made. Here is what's happening:

- The app opens with no problems. I can login, and it shows a connection to the server has been made successfully.
- I can hear the touch-tone when dialing and all other audio works on the computer.
- when I make a call I cannot hear the other line ringing, nor can I hear the other person once the call has been connected.
- It happens both when calling out and receiving a call.
- Overall this problem happens about 50% of the time.

Like I said this happens about 50% of the time. When the computer is rebooted the first call works 90% of the time. Here are some things I have noticed:

- If an outgoing call connects to an answering service and I hang up and try to make another call it probably wont work.
- If I am on a call for 5 minutes or more the next call wont work.
- If I successfully make a few calls in a row (approx. 3) the next call won't work.
- If the person receiving the call answers quickly it seems to happen. ***not sure this one can be reproduced***
- Trying again once the problem occurs does not work (i.e - the problem is not intermittent, once it happens the only way to fix it is to reboot)
- Simply rebooting does not always work. Often you need to cold-boot it. (feels like the mac is saving a setting)
- It is not related to the other persons provider.

Does anybody else have this problem? I haven't seen any posts regarding this, is it an issue with Mac but not PC's?

It feels like the audio stream/in is not being handled properly. This problem rarely happens when the computer is first turned on, FPL is the first app launched, and a call is made right away. It happens with higher frequency as more calls are made and/or more apps use audio. If I had to guess I would say that something is not being released when it should be.
