Hello,
I am trying the softphone option before deciding to purchase the config file. Since I work sometimes from home, I find myself often calling work where I have to dial an extension after first calling the phone number.
However, when I dial the extension number, the system at other end doesn't seem to understand the command. It often asks me to enter it again, or transfers me to the receptionist.
I want to know if this a problem just with the softphone and if I purchase the config file a regular phone would send the "right" tone.
Call quality is great, it is just that issue that is preventing me from using FPL as my main phone.
Thanks for the replies.

Re: Using the FPL Softphone - Cannot call extensions
It is probably just the DTMF tones setting.
On the softphone if you click (Menu > Setting > Other) there is a setting for DTMF type there. Try the other setting, it might work. This is the only draw back with VOIP systems that i have found.
If you have an ATA you can certainly change it, and one of the settings will work. It's just a pain to have to change it. Luckily I don't call many automated systems.

Re: Using the FPL Softphone - Cannot call extensions
Not just extension dialing, but any keypad input after the initial dialing. Just for giggles, I dialed a pager and tried repeatedly entering 10D phone numbers (it was a company pager that I had for the day). The results, via the softphone, were ASTOUNDING .... anywhere between 8 and 33 digits (MAX) with no real rhyme or reason as to whyy/how .... My internet connection at the time was STABLE and neither PING nor JITTER varied greatly, but the strings of digits I got back on the pager were literally all over the map. When transmitted correctly, there was a lot of "stutter" on the numbers .... as in entering 604594abcd, it would read out as: 664444455594444acccccdd one time and 6000004445599999ccccd another.... very odd and completely inconsistent!
