Problems with Ottawa area code 343

Post by lifeisfun »

I had my Ottawa area code 343 number ported to freephoneline and I'm having problem
to make calls to area code 343 (same as me) and some people can't call me as well.
It works fine from and to 613 area code (also Ottawa)
Before I switched to FPL from FreeCanadianCalls everything was working fine.
(FCC is now out of business but it was using Fibernetic network as well)

FCC wasn't actually using our network, just DIDs from us.

Can you please elaborate on "not being able to call"? Specifically, do you hear error messages? Or what exactly happens that's preventing you from calling?

Which numbers are you having trouble with, specifically --- NPA-NXX ... we know 343-_ _ _ ... don't need the last 4 digits.

I have not seen any updated posts, has your problem resolved itself or not?

So you are calling "from" another number into your FPL #, which is the 343-883-21xx number, is that correct? And your FPL # gives you the fast busy?

Or am I reading this wrong? Could it be an issue with the provider you are calling from (ie: a Bell cellphone, may not have the 343-883 prefix programmed in their switch correctly?) I am having a problem like that in Vancouver calling FPL #'s from a Telus MIKE phone ...

Sorry for all the questions, trying to nail down so we can try to help...

If it is your FPL #, feel free to PM me if you want me to try a test call from MY FPL# to yours to see what we get happening (I have a 778 Vancouver number, and can also access a friend's 604 Vancouver # for testing...)

I just tried calling a 343-883-75XX number and the call went through, so I would suggest there is nothing wrong with calling 343-883-XXXX numbers on the FPL system.

Incidentally, if you call your own number from your FPL line, you will get your answerphone. I'm not sure if that is what you meant earlier when you said "If I dial my own 343 number I get voice mail prompt" or if you meant you were calling from another line.
