Hi guys,
I have setup my FPL softphone through my Belkin N750. I know Belkin routers has serious SIP ALG problems. I have forwarded the ports:
5060 - 5061, 6060 - 6061, 13000 - 13001, 16384 - 16483
Have been looking for information on the internet for whole day but can't find anything useful.
Here are the strange symptoms:
1. When connected PC directly to shaw modem, Cell side(1 sec. delayed echo) call -> Softphone. Both side can hear and talk.
2. When connected through Belkin router, Cell side(cannot hear) call -> Softphone. Can hear cell but cell hears nothing.
3. When connected through Belkin router, Softphone call -> Cell side (1 sec. delayed echo)(Both side can hear and talk for the 1 CALL, drop call and call AGAIN and SAME AS 2.!!)
4. When disable firewall and put into DMZ, phone rings pick up and both sides' audio went dead! Totally silent!
What router would you guys suggest, for good reception range(Since I live in a 2 stories house)? Called Belkin support and they just say: That's all the settings available in the router setup, call your voip co. and ask them what ports are required to forward since they have already instructed me to disable and put into DMZ. Belkin support is totally Not helpful at all! Does anyone know how to disable SIP ALG in Belkin routers? I have tested on google voice it's working, I have nettalk didn't work at first called their support and they asked my MAC address and changed the ports for me.
Update:
Called FPL technical support several times, still trying to figure out the problem.
Forward ports: 5050-6061, 10000-20000
Thank you so much in advance, any help would be grateful x_x

Re: Cannot Connect through Belkin N750 Router
You have a Belkin router. Toss it for your own sanity. Belkin routers have been known to show they are passing ports, when in reality, nothing is passed. I see nothing has changed with this model. Enjoy the fruitless effort trying to get it to work, with SIP VOIP if you want to go that way. I would get another router, preferably one that have the option to flash to DD-WRT.
You might also have a windows firewall issue. Disable that, and see what happens. Windows firewall is useless if you are already behind a router.

Re: Cannot Connect through Belkin N750 Router
Yeah, I didn't know there are routers that are "voip friendly". I thought a router "is a router". I just finished flashed my old Dlink Dir-615 to DD-WRT. Well, it works but It's slow thought(~60% speed left). I mean the Belkin hardware is attractive, it's almost 1/2 price of a netgear so it's cheap! Frankly as a internet router it did the job pretty good but when it comes to voip, the IMHO totally useless if not st*pid SIP ALG firewall. Dir-615 have the same pb but I was lucky able to flash the firmware.
I think I'll need to buy a netgear (pbly not Dlink) in the future for able to flash to DD-WRT.
Yeah, for some reason even I disable SIP ALG in Dir-615 I still only have one audio. Was staring at the monitor for 4 hours last night, before I made a decision: I have to take the risk, it's not working at all. I have to try flash to DD-WRT.
