Hi!
I have a problem with my Voip Adapter, it's a Linksys SPA 2102.
Some times, i don't know why, it cuts completely my internet and my modem isn't able to reconnect to the internet.
I have to unplug the modem and it will work again.
My modem is a Thomson 516.
I already tried with another Linksys SPA 2102 and does the same thing.
I want to know if you can suggest me another VOIP ATA that is easy to use, i can modify the dial plan, and that is necessary to dial the # after the number to make instant calling.
Please can you suggest me other ATA.
Thank you
Delcio

Re: Changing VOIP ATA
I am partial to Grandstream products. Fongo sells a Grandstream HT286 this is pretty good. I would stay away from Cisco/Sipura VOIP gear, because even though they work fine when configured properly, they are not NAT friendly.
Maybe you do not need a new ATA device! A quick look at the Thomson 516, and it seems the modem wants SIP port 5060 to itself. Not very sporting for a modem, but let the baby have it's bottle! Instead, map an alternate SIP port that Fongo supports like 6060 to the SPA2102. Make sure there are RTP ports mapped to the SPA2102, if memory serves me, I believe the default RTP port is 16384, but make sure.

Re: Changing VOIP ATA
I might suggest looking into your internet connection itself - you could have unstable sync on the line which isn't related to the VoIP at all. It might just be that you actually notice the connection dropping when on the VoIP phone as opposed to surfing the web where it may happen fast enough to not be noticed.
